MR. AND MRS. CHARLES KREUTZKAMP
A shoemaker with seven children, Kreutzkamp arrived in I898, which prevented the local school from closing for lack of students. After working at his trade for several years, Kreutzkamp opened a general store at the north end of town and was appointed postmaster.
His daughters Elizabeth and Annie later married Hugo and Edward Schutte, respectively, sons of Gerhard Schutte.
ST. PATRICK’S CATHOLIC CHURCH
Kreutzkamp donated land for the first sanctuary of St. Patrick’s church. The structure later became the first Carlsbad City Hall, then the Children’s Library and now stands in Magee Park as Heritage Hall
