First City Hall utilized old St. Patrick’s Catholic Church

1954 New City Hall constructed on Pio Pico: $18,000 total cost; volunteer fire and police help build it.

Carlsbad Municipal Water Company formed

1960 Jane Sonneman first woman to hold City Mayor position

1967 Mayor is elected directly for the first time

1968 Original City Hall razed, due to I-5 expansion
